Adults On Game Consoles

A recent survey revealed that 1 of every 3 American adults who uses internet also owns a video game console.

Nielsen Survey, revealed Tuesday that nearly 37% U.S. adults who go online also owns a video game console and around 16% of them owns a portable gaming device such as  Sony PSP or Nintendo DS.

“As game consoles have become increasingly sophisticated, families have incorporated them into their centralized home media centers, which include the television, digital recording device, digital music player and the PC,” said Carolyn Creekmore, senior director of media analytics, Nielsen//NetRatings.

The survey also revealed that the majority or 71 percent of those gaming console owners are married and 66 percent have at least one child in the household.

    And it’s not just the middle-aged adults that are still into gaming. There is a senior home that I volunteer at that has the Nintendo Wii in their rec room. And believe me, it doesn’t exactly gather dust.
